A warning has been issued for Canadians to avoid consuming garlic powder purchased from Dollarama due to a recall. The affected product is Heavenly Spices brand garlic powder available in a 70-gram package sold nationwide. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) released the recall notice this week after it was announced by the dollar store chain. The CFIA advises against using, selling, serving, or distributing the implicated product to prevent any health risks. The recall was initiated due to contamination with Bacillus cereus, a type of bacteria known to cause food poisoning. Symptoms of infection from Bacillus cereus may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
