Chloe Fineman, a member of the “Saturday Night Live” cast, has revealed her departure from the show after completing seven seasons. In an Instagram post on Thursday, Fineman shared the news ahead of the upcoming 52nd season scheduled for this fall.
Her exit comes after a significant shift during the 50th season in 2025, which saw the departure of several comedians, including Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, Ego Nwodim, and Emil Wakim. They were succeeded for the 51st season by Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall from “Please Don’t Destroy,” and Canadian talent Veronika Slowikowska.
The 51st season did not witness any major cast departures until the finale earlier this year, except for Bowen Yang leaving midway through in December 2025. Fineman expressed mixed emotions in her Instagram caption, stating, “It’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time. I’m going to miss it a lot. But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”
Fineman, who joined the show in 2019 along with Yang and brief cast member Shane Gillis, will be remembered for her notable impressions of various personalities such as Melania Trump, Timothée Chalamet, Britney Spears, and Drew Barrymore. She also gained recognition for her social media videos impersonating the Australian Olympic breakdancer Raygun.
The “SNL” cast has evolved over time to include more long-serving members, with this year’s lineup featuring six members who have been on the show for six or more seasons. Alongside Fineman, the seasoned members included Kenan Thompson, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Mikey Day, and Andrew Dismukes, with Thompson holding the record for the most seasons at 23.
Gardner held the title of the longest-serving female cast member before her departure, and Fineman became the longest-tenured woman on “SNL” after Nwodim’s exit. Creator Lorne Michaels had hinted at upcoming changes following the show’s 50th anniversary.
In reflecting on their departures, Walker, Wakim, and Longfellow appeared to suggest that their exits may not have been voluntary. Walker likened entertainment work to marriages, Longfellow expressed disappointment at not returning for another season, and Wakim shared the emotional experience of learning he would not be returning while at a friend’s birthday party.
Looking ahead, Fineman is set to star in upcoming projects, including “Love Language” alongside Chloë Grace Moretz and “The Dink” featuring Jake Johnson, Ben Stiller, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris.
