“Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wedding Buzz at MSG”

Featured in:

The long-awaited event for Taylor Swift fans is almost here. All eyes are on New York’s Madison Square Garden, where Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce are set to get married at 5 p.m. local time on Friday, as per a permit obtained by The Associated Press.

Despite visible signs, event planners and city officials seem to be trying hard to keep the wedding details under wraps. The permit for a “Special Event at MSG” was approved by New York City’s permitting office on Wednesday night, confirmed by a spokesperson for Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Sources familiar with the plans have disclosed that the permit is linked to the famous singer and football player. It includes a “pre-party celebration” starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, with about 100 guests attending an intimate rehearsal dinner.

The permit also indicates a full street closure around the Manhattan arena overnight to set up entrance tents for the main event at 5 p.m. on Friday, potentially lasting until 4 a.m. the next day. These arrangements align with ongoing rumors that the iconic venue would host the celebrity couple’s wedding.

Recent sightings of crews unloading equipment behind barricades have fueled these speculations. Notable items spotted include a large carpet briefly rolled out and a box labeled “40-inch mirrorball,” potentially a nod to Taylor Swift’s song “Mirrorball” from 2020.

Although the couple’s representatives have not confirmed any details, city officials have not been as discreet. The New York City Police Department acknowledged preparing for a busy weekend with various events, hinting at the upcoming wedding as a significant occasion.

Security measures are already in place around Madison Square Garden to manage the expected influx of Swift fans. Police have warned against illegal drone activity, with strict policies in place to safeguard the event’s privacy.

Attendees have reportedly been required to sign non-disclosure agreements, ensuring secrecy throughout the festivities. Fans eagerly anticipating glimpses of the wedding or celebrities may find their hopes dashed due to the stringent privacy measures in effect.
