A man linked to organized crime in Montreal is facing charges related to a murder and cocaine trafficking and is now up for extradition to the United States. Atna Onha, known as Tupac or 2-Pac, appeared in a Montreal court via video call on Tuesday, with the specifics of the allegations against him kept confidential.
Reportedly, the 40-year-old was apprehended early Tuesday by the RCMP at the FBI’s behest in connection to the case involving Ryan Wedding, a former Team Canada Olympian now on the run. Wedding, a Canadian drug lord who competed as a snowboarder at the 2002 Olympics, is among the FBI’s top 10 most-wanted fugitives.
The U.S. State Department is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to Wedding’s capture, the highest reward among the individuals on the FBI’s list. Wedding is facing federal charges for three murders, involvement in a cocaine trafficking conspiracy, and leading a criminal enterprise.
A press briefing is scheduled for Wednesday in Washington, D.C., concerning the matter, with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme expected to attend.
Sources from Radio-Canada suggest that Ohna has affiliations with biker gangs and the Mafia in Montreal.
