Seinfeld star Jason Alexander, 66, has issued a public apology to reality TV personality Courtney Stodden, 31, following her Instagram post where she criticized a comedic sketch they both participated in when she was a minor.

Stodden revealed that she was 17 years old during the filming of the Funny or Die sketch, which parodied daytime talk shows like Dr. Phil. In the sketch, Alexander humorously placed his cellphone on Stodden’s chest, joking that it was the only place with a good signal.

Stodden shared a screenshot of the sketch from 2012 on Monday and expressed her confusion and discomfort with the content. She recounted how Alexander repeatedly made inappropriate gestures towards her, including suggestive comments about her turning 18.

Highlighting that Alexander was credited as one of the writers for the sketch on IMDB, Stodden emphasized her struggle to comprehend the situation, stating that she sees it now as her teenage self being objectified for adult humor.

In response to Stodden’s revelations, Alexander publicly apologized to her through various media outlets. He acknowledged the inappropriateness of the sketch and expressed genuine regret for any harm caused to Stodden.

Stodden, known for her controversial marriage to actor Doug Hutchison at 16, has since become an advocate against child marriage and exploitation of minors in the entertainment industry. Reflecting on her experiences, she emphasized the importance of protecting children through proper laws and regulations.
