“Trump Shifts From Freedom 250 to ‘Greatest Rally, EVER!'”

Featured in:

U.S. President Donald Trump has officially called off the Freedom 250 concerts that were scheduled to take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This decision came after most of the original artists withdrew from the event. Instead, Trump announced that a “Greatest Rally, EVER!” will be held on June 24 to commemorate the U.S.’s 250th birthday. The President made this announcement on his Truth Social account, nearly a week after initially hinting at cancelling the Freedom 250 event.

Although the new event will not feature the originally planned lineup of artists, Trump assured his supporters that Lee Greenwood, a strong supporter of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, will introduce him with his renowned song “GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.” Additionally, Christopher Macchio from the New York Tenors will also perform a selection of iconic songs at the rally.

Several artists had backed out of the concert series in the past few weeks, citing concerns over the event’s partisan nature. Notable artists who withdrew include Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Morris Day and the Time, the Commodores, Young MC, and most recently, Fab Morvan from Milli Vanilli. Trump criticized these artists for leaving the event and emphasized that only Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida remained from the original lineup.

Despite the cancellation of the series, Vanilla Ice expressed his willingness to participate in the revised event, stating that he intends to be part of it regardless. The new event will feature performances by military bands such as the U.S. Army Band ‘Perishing’s Own,’ Armed Forces Choir, and ‘The President’s Own’ United States Marine Band, along with the Joint Armed Forces Chorus.

The revised event promises to showcase a selection of favorite hits and will culminate with a special appearance by President Donald J. Trump. The Freedom 250 website describes the anniversary event as a celebration of the American spirit, although similar events commemorating the U.S.’s birthday have faced criticism for excessively glorifying Trump.
