In a recent rendition of Queen’s classic hit “Bohemian Rhapsody,” TikTok creator Ella Mott performed the iconic anthem in Minionese at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre during the premiere of “Minions & Monsters.” The video of her performance has gone viral on Instagram, garnering over 420,000 views.
Minionese, also known as the “Banana Language,” is a gibberish language that incorporates syllables and words from various real-world languages like English. The language features quirky terms like “banana,” “bapple,” and “potato,” fitting for the food-obsessed Minions.
Mott’s flawless execution of the Minionese rendition impressed many fans on social media, with some comparing her performance to Freddie Mercury. Her proficiency in Minionese is evident on her TikTok account, where she showcases her talent through various videos, including a humorous Minion influencer impression.
This is not the first time Mott’s Minionese version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” has gained widespread attention. A previous TikTok video she shared in January amassed over seven million likes and 38 million views.
The Minionese singing contest held during the premiere of “Minions & Monsters” saw Mott performing the Queen classic as part of the event. The winner of the contest sang the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” and received a Golden Banana as a prize.
“Minions & Monsters,” the seventh installment in the “Despicable Me” franchise, is set to hit theaters on July 1, offering fans another delightful adventure with the lovable Minions.
