“Mike O’Shea to Lead Winnipeg Blue Bombers for 12th Season”

Featured in:

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have confirmed that Mike O’Shea will continue as the head coach for the upcoming season. O’Shea, aged 55, a distinguished coach in the CFL with multiple awards and six Grey Cup victories, will mark his 12th season coaching the Bombers in 2026.

Under O’Shea’s guidance, the Bombers have secured playoff berths for nine consecutive seasons and appeared in five consecutive Grey Cup finals from 2019 to 2024, clinching the championship in the first two appearances.

The decision for O’Shea’s return comes at a crucial time as the Toronto Argonauts are in search of a new head coach following Ryan Dinwiddie’s departure to join the Ottawa Redblacks as coach and general manager. O’Shea, hailing from North Bay, Ontario, previously played as a linebacker for the Argonauts and later served as their special teams coordinator before taking on the role of head coach for the Bombers.

Additionally, the Bombers have also confirmed the return of general manager Kyle Walters for the upcoming season, as his contract was also set to expire. This continuity in coaching and management signals stability and ongoing commitment to success for the Winnipeg team.
