Justin Bieber achieved a new milestone at the American Music Awards on Monday, securing his fifth win for best male pop artist. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had already clinched this title four times in the past. His initial victory in this category, previously known as favorite pop/rock male artist, dates back to 2010.
At this year’s awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Bieber held four nominations, including the prestigious artist of the year and album of the year for his recent album “Swag.” This latest win elevates Bieber’s tally to 19 American Music Awards, placing him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-highest number of wins by a male artist. The top spot is still held by the late Michael Jackson, who boasts 24 awards.
Recently, the renowned “Peaches” singer made a remarkable return to the stage by headlining Coachella last month, marking his first major performance since postponing a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
Notable winners from the event included BTS, who secured the artist of the year award, and Sabrina Carpenter, who triumphed with the album of the year honor.
