Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his team from the Artemis II mission were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their recent journey to the far side of the moon. During a gathering in Longueuil, Que., Hansen expressed gratitude to the individuals present for their contributions to the successful mission.

The 10-day expedition led by Hansen, mission commander Reid Wiseman, and astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch marked a historic milestone by venturing further from Earth than any previous human mission. Koch highlighted the connection she and Glover felt to Canada, having undergone training in the country, and praised the CSA as a second home.

Subsequently, the crew engaged in a dialogue with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and members of the public, joined by Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons, who played a role in NASA’s Mission Control Center. Wiseman emphasized the diverse backgrounds of the Artemis II crew, underscoring how the varied perspectives enriched the mission and fostered global unity.
