A Place In The Sun host Lucy Alexander may be famous for hosting property TV series after first tasting fame as a children’s TV presenter but she isn’t the only famous member of her family.
Both her children are also flourishing in high-profile careers with her daughter being a soap star and her son a Premier League footballer.
The 55-year-old TV host has maintained that despite her family being famous, they try to remain as humble as possible and she has vowed that the celebrity status will not go to any of their heads.
It’s no surprise that Lucy’s children have both gone on to be so successful, given she and her husband have both endured incredibly lucrative careers over the years.
Lucy is married to Stewart Castledine, who was once a professional footballer himself, playing as a midfielder for Wimbledon. He then ventured into the world of fashion, modelling for the likes of DKNY and Topman – to name a few.
In 2000, the pair tied the knot in a lavish ceremony before welcoming their first child Kitty, 23, and then their son Leo, 20. The property expert who starred alongside Martin Roberts for 13 years on BBC’s Homes Under The Hammer, had already been in the housing game long before she met Stewart
She first purchased a property at just age 18 with the help of her parents but after meeting Stewart, the pair joined forces on their shared passion of developing homes.
Previously speaking to the Express, she said: “I met my husband. And then we both did a little bit of buying and selling together. But I’ve always had a passion for property because I suppose it’s in my blood.”
Stewart also turned his attentions television at one point, much like his famous TV wife, hosting shows such as Big Strong Boys and Houses Behaving Badly on the BBC.
Their daughter, Kitty, is an actress and a much loved star of BBC’s EastEnders, starring as Penny Branning on the soap. She has already starred in some major storylines alongside her on-screen cousin, Jacqueline Jossa.
Meanwhile, Lucy and Stewart’s youngest child Leo, is following in the footsteps of his dad it would seem, having signed for Premier League team Chelsea and tipped for a huge football career ahead of him.
He has been linked to the club for some years having been scouted in 2011 but has since made his debut in the senior team. Leo has also played for England’s youth team and made a huge impression after he scored a jaw-dropping goal against Romania.
Despite every single member of Lucy’s family having a celebrity status, she has made a vow to make sure they all remain grounded. In a recent interview with The Sun, she said: “We are very down to earth and no one runs away with themselves and my kids certainly keep me grounded.
“But they are all doing jobs that they love and it’s just uncanny and weird that I’m in this line of work and now Kitty, she’s an actress and I went to drama school. My husband was a footballer and now my son plays professional football. We are lucky that we do jobs that we absolutely love.”
Lucy having been just 18 when she purchased her first home believes her children may follow down the same path, adding: “It is so good now that they are adults because they have taken on my love for property.
“Now they are of the age where they are probably going to want to leave home and I’ve been going with them around houses all over the place now!”
