Actor and lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jared Leto, is currently facing allegations of criminal sexual behavior as reported by four women in a recent BBC documentary. The accusations date back to when the women were teenagers, with incidents allegedly occurring between 2002 and 2016, when Leto was in his 30s and early 40s.
The documentary titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret” features interviews with 10 women detailing their encounters with Leto. Among them, four women describe what they consider criminal behavior on Leto’s part. The documentary also presents corroborating evidence from friends and family who were informed about the incidents at the time.
Leto has refuted these allegations. Despite his denial, this is not the first time Leto has faced such accusations. Previous reports, including an investigative piece by Air Mail in June 2025, highlighted accounts from nine women accusing Leto of predatory behavior and unwanted advances between 2006 and 2012. Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz publicly accused Leto of assaulting her when she was 17.
The BBC documentary acknowledges these previous allegations, noting over 120 separate online claims concerning Leto’s behavior towards women. Leto, who won an Academy Award in 2014 for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club,” has starred in popular films like “Fight Club,” “Blade Runner 2049,” and “Suicide Squad.” His band is also set to embark on a European tour in April 2027.
In response to the BBC’s allegations, Leto’s representatives released a statement to CBC News asserting that the actor has never engaged in any form of sexual assault, labeling the claims in the documentary as false. The BBC stated that despite reaching out to Leto for comment, the actor did not respond to the allegations.
The documentary features accounts from four women who recount their experiences with Leto. Isabel, who was 17 at the time, alleges that Leto sexually assaulted her in 2002. Another woman, Alex, claims Leto made sexual threats towards her in 2013. Clara and Etta also share their encounters with Leto, detailing instances of sexual advances and inappropriate behavior.
None of the women in the documentary are identified by their real names. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that no sexual assault reports involving Leto have been filed within their jurisdiction.
