Set decorator Mary Kate Golding, aged 34, known for her work on popular TV series such as “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Goosebumps,” was discovered deceased in her residence in Queens, New York, on Tuesday. Law enforcement officers were alerted to the situation following a 911 call after midnight, and upon reaching the scene, Golding was found with a stab wound in her back, confirmed as deceased by a spokesperson from the New York Police Department.
Several hours later, around 6:39 a.m. ET, authorities received another report of an unconscious man in the vicinity of Astoria Park, also in Queens. The man, aged between 30 and 35, was pronounced dead at the location. It has been suggested that the deceased man is Golding’s spouse, Joseph Azzaretto, as per reports from various sources, with an unnamed police insider hinting at a potential murder-suicide scenario being under investigation.
The inquiry into the incident is ongoing, with no additional information currently available. Golding was acknowledged for her contributions as a set decorator in the initial six episodes of the debut season of the Amazon Prime Video series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” Her portfolio included notable works in film and television such as “The Big Sick,” “Gotham,” “The Undoing,” “The Flight Attendant,” “Hawkeye,” and more recent projects like “Goosebumps.” She had been slated to work on the upcoming film “Deep Cuts.”
For immediate assistance in case of danger or concern for personal safety, individuals are urged to contact 911. For those affected by domestic or intimate partner violence, seeking help from crisis lines and local support services is recommended.
