“Hilary Knight Played Olympics with Torn Ligament”

U.S. women’s hockey team captain Hilary Knight shared on a TV show that she played at the Olympics in Milan with a torn medial collateral ligament in one of her knees. Knight mentioned on “CBS Mornings” that she faced challenges due to the injury, affecting her mobility and causing her to miss some games for the Seattle Torrent team. Despite the injury, Knight, who competed in what she described as her final Olympics at the age of 36, managed to tie the final game against Canada with just over two minutes remaining in regulation time. Upon their return, Knight, along with teammates Kendall Coye Schofield and Erin Ambrose from Canada, were placed on long-term injured reserve by their respective PWHL teams.

Knight, along with U.S. men’s gold medalists Jack and Quinn Hughes, is scheduled to make an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” This follows their recent appearance on “Saturday Night Live” alongside women’s gold medalist Megan Keller. Jack Hughes also scored a winning goal against Canada in overtime, mirroring Keller’s achievement three days earlier. This victory marked the first men’s gold medal for the U.S. since the 1980 “Miracle on Ice” in Lake Placid. Both Jack and Quinn have resumed playing in the NHL for the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild, respectively.

Canada’s team captain, Marie-Philip Poulin, expressed her emotions following the gold medal loss to the United States in the Olympic women’s hockey final. Poulin mentioned feeling disappointed at falling short in the game. Megan Keller’s overtime goal secured a 2-1 victory for the United States over Canada in the thrilling final match.
