Peel police revealed that the second victim in a collision caused by a youth driver in Brampton on Saturday was not discovered until many hours after the incident. The crash occurred at Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street W. around 4:20 a.m., with the unsettling finding of the second body occurring at approximately 5:30 p.m., more than 12 hours later.

Const. Tyler Bell-Morena described the discovery as “gruesome,” emphasizing the challenges of locating the victim due to the severe damage to the vehicle. The collision involved a Blue Audi and a Black Honda Civic, with both vehicles leaving the road after the impact. While three individuals from the Audi sustained minor injuries and an adult man, aged 31, was found deceased in the Honda Civic, it was revealed that the driver and passenger of the Honda Civic were not acquainted, as the passenger had booked a rideshare after a social event.

Peel police officers, including Const. Amanda Steenson, highlighted the lack of immediate evidence of a passenger when the deceased driver was removed from the vehicle. Subsequent investigations revealed that a missing 20-year-old woman, last tracked to the crash site through a shared app, was indeed a passenger in the Honda Civic. Her remains were eventually located in the wreckage at the police impound yard. The authorities, in collaboration with Brampton fire and emergency responders, worked to extract her body using specialized equipment.

The tragic incident prompted two reports of the woman being missing – one from her family and another from a friend, both around 4 p.m. The driver of the Audi, a 17-year-old youth, faced charges of dangerous driving causing death and failure to comply with demand. The case has now been transferred to the Major Collision Bureau for further investigation. The police emphasized the sensitivity of the information shared, stressing the importance of ensuring justice for the affected families in the face of this devastating loss.
