Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and her doubles partner Erin Routliffe from New Zealand have decided to part ways as a doubles team. Their successful partnership led to three doubles titles in 2025, with victories in Stuttgart, Cincinnati, and the U.S. Open.
In an Instagram post, Dabrowski reflected on their journey, describing it as a mix of achievements, challenges, and unexpected emotions. Despite ending their professional collaboration, the bond of friendship between them remains strong.
While Routliffe competes under New Zealand’s banner, she also holds Canadian citizenship and had represented Canada in the past. The duo began their partnership in 2023 and clinched their first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open that year, marking a significant milestone for both players.
Although the formal announcement of their split was made recently, Dabrowski and Routliffe had already started playing with different partners towards the end of the previous season. However, they briefly reunited for the WTA Finals before officially parting ways.
