Céline Dion’s Romantic French Ballad Sparks Comeback

Featured in:

Céline Dion released a fresh single on Friday, signaling her return to the music scene. The new track, named “Dansons” which translates to “Let’s dance” in English, is a tender and romantic French-language ballad. Accompanying the single is a music video filled with romantic scenes set in Paris, showcasing various couples dancing freely in public spaces.

This release comes ahead of Céline Dion’s upcoming series of 16 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena, scheduled from September 12 to October 17. Speculation about her comeback was confirmed with the appearance of mysterious signs across Paris featuring lyrics from her well-known songs like “My Heart Will Go On” and “The Power of Love.”

Marking her first French release in over a decade, “Dansons” is a significant collaboration with renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman. This track also marks her first original song in years, following her last release in 2023 for the film “Love Again.”

Céline Dion’s return to the stage is highly anticipated, especially after her health issues led to the cancellation of her previous world tour. She had to cancel the “Courage” world tour in 2023 due to her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that impacts singing abilities. Despite her challenges, Dion made a public return in July 2024 by performing Edith Piaf’s “Hymn to Love” during the Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony and later at a fashion show in Saudi Arabia honoring designer Elie Saab’s extensive career.
