Bestselling author Sarah J. Maas has revealed the release dates for two highly anticipated books in her renowned romantasy series, “A Court of Thorns and Roses” (ACOTAR). During an interview on Alex Cooper’s podcast, Maas announced that the next installment after 2021’s “A Court of Silver Flames” will hit shelves on October 27, with a seventh book following on January 12, 2027.

Describing the upcoming story as a significant and surprising creative endeavor, Maas shared that the plot will unfold in four parts across three books, emphasizing that the narrative is intended to be experienced as one cohesive tale rather than a traditional trilogy.

Having sold over 75 million books worldwide in 40 languages, Maas is credited with igniting the romantasy genre’s popularity, particularly on platforms like BookTok. The news of her upcoming releases has sparked excitement among fans, with Bloomsbury’s shares surging up to 20% following the announcement.

Acknowledging the long-awaited nature of the sixth ACOTAR book, Maas explained that the writing process took time due to personal circumstances but expressed satisfaction with the final outcome. While withholding details about titles and covers, she hinted at the epic scale of the narrative, necessitating its expansion into three separate books.

Enthusiastic fans, including notable figures like book influencer Cherry Wallis and actor Ashley Greene, have expressed joy and anticipation for the upcoming releases, with many lauding Maas for delivering two books in quick succession. The news has been met with widespread celebration and excitement within the fan community, contrasting with the prolonged wait experienced by followers of other beloved series.
