Rachel McAdams Honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Canadian actress Rachel McAdams was honored with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. The 47-year-old actress, accompanied by her family, partner, and colleagues, reflected on her roots in St. Thomas, Ontario, during the induction ceremony in Los Angeles.

Recalling her childhood dream of appearing on Ed McMahon’s “Star Search,” McAdams expressed gratitude for her supportive parents. She emphasized her journey as a working actor over the past 25 years, acknowledging the opportunities and people who shaped her career.

Having made a mark in Hollywood with notable roles in films like “Mean Girls” and “The Notebook,” McAdams began her acting career at the Original Kids Theatre Company in London at the age of 12. Recently, she garnered critical acclaim for her Broadway debut in “Mary Jane,” earning a Tony nomination and other accolades.

During the ceremony, McAdams thanked her loved ones and collaborators, paying a heartfelt tribute to the late Diane Keaton, her co-star in “The Family Stone.” She credited Keaton for imparting valuable lessons on dedication and passion in acting.

Jim Schaefer, a London actor and acting coach who worked with McAdams in her early days at Original Kids, commended her journey to stardom, emphasizing her talent and perseverance. Directors and co-stars, including Sam Raimi and Domhnall Gleeson, praised McAdams for her exceptional acting skills and authenticity on screen.

McAdams is set to star in Raimi’s upcoming film “Send Help” alongside Dylan O’Brien, scheduled for release on Jan. 30. Her dedication to her craft and passion for acting continue to earn her recognition in the industry.
