Israel announced on Monday that the Red Cross had delivered another deceased hostage’s body from Gaza to the Israeli military, as stated by the Israeli prime minister’s office. Confirming the identity of this deceased individual would imply that there are still 12 hostage remains in Gaza. Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, has mentioned challenges in locating these bodies amidst the rubble from the conflicts.
The retrieval and transfer of deceased hostages’ bodies in Gaza have posed difficulties concerning U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza strategy. A spokesperson from the Israeli government mentioned on Sunday that the militant group is aware of the bodies’ locations.
In a move to aid this process, Israel permitted an Egyptian technical team to collaborate with the Red Cross in locating the bodies. The team is set to utilize excavators and trucks for the search operation beyond the designated yellow line in Gaza, where Israeli troops initially withdrew according to Trump’s plan.
