Featured in:

Justin Bieber, Tate McRae, Drake, and other Canadian musicians have been nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards. Bieber secured four nominations for his unexpected return album “Swag,” including recognition for best pop vocal album and album of the year. This marks Bieber’s fifth nomination in the pop vocal album category, tying him with Justin Timberlake. Additionally, his songs “Daisies” and “Yukon” received nods for best pop solo performance and best R&B performance, respectively.

Renowned Halifax producer Cirkut, a previous Grammy winner, leads the Canadian nominations with seven nods. His nominations encompass producer of the year, non-classical, for his work on Lady Gaga’s album “Mayhem” and Ed Sheeran’s track “Play,” among others. Cirkut is also up for record of the year for Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” and Bruno Mars and Rosé’s “Apt,” as well as album of the year for “Mayhem” and best dance pop recording for “Abracadabra.”

Calgary pop sensation Tate McRae received her first-ever Grammy nomination for best dance pop recording for her song “Just Keep Watching” from the “F1” soundtrack, which is also in the running for the best compilation soundtrack for visual media.

Past nominees and winners like Vancouver’s Tobias Jesso Jr., a previous Grammy winner for songwriter of the year, are back in the mix with nominations. Jesso Jr. is up for songwriter of the year, non-classical, for his contributions to “Swag” and various other tracks. Additionally, Victoria metal band Spiritbox has been nominated for best metal performance.

Audio engineer and mixer Serban Ghenea, a multiple Grammy winner, earned six nominations, including for record of the year for his work on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra.” Notably, Drake returns to the Grammy nominations with a nod for best melodic rap performance alongside PartyNextDoor for their collaboration “Somebody Loves Me.”

On the other hand, despite ending his Grammy boycott, The Weeknd did not receive any nominations this year. His recent album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” released within the eligibility period, saw Cirkut receive a nomination for his production work on the album.

The list of Canadian nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards includes standout artists and producers, showcasing the diverse talent within the Canadian music industry.
