Bad Bunny made history at the 68th annual Grammy Awards by becoming the first Latin artist to win the prestigious album of the year award for his album titled DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. The Puerto Rican singer’s achievement overshadowed other nominees such as Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, Lady Gaga, Leon Thomas, and Tyler, the Creator.
Kendrick Lamar also had a successful night, securing five Grammy wins, including record of the year for his collaboration with SZA on the song luther. This victory elevated Lamar above Jay-Z as the most awarded rapper in Grammy history with a total of 27 wins.
Lady Gaga’s album Mayhem and hit single Abracadabra garnered four Grammy awards, including best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording. Gaga’s Canadian producer, Cirkut, who was highly nominated, also received two awards, notably producer of the year, non-classical.
Other notable winners included Billie Eilish for song of the year with WILDFLOWER, British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean for best new artist, and Joni Mitchell for best historical album with Joni Mitchell Archives, Volume 4: The Asylum Years — 1976-1980.
The ceremony also recognized artists across various genres, with winners like Turnstile for best rock album with NEVER ENOUGH, Nine Inch Nails for best rock song with As Alive As You Need Me To Be, and Kendrick Lamar for best rap album with GNX.
