Despite finishing just two points behind Ottawa in the CPL table, Forge FC, who claimed the top spot, still has a chance to advance to the final by winning the contender semifinal next weekend.
In the match on Sunday, Forge FC took the lead in the 23rd minute with a goal by David Choinière. However, Ottawa equalized ten minutes later courtesy of Gabriel Antinoro’s strike. The defining moment came in the early second half when Atlético’s prolific striker Sam Salter, the record-holder for most goals scored in a CPL season, headed in the winning goal.
