The Philadelphia Flyers made history by scoring three goals in just 26 seconds in their game against the New Jersey Devils. Tyson Foerster and Matvei Michkov each contributed to this remarkable feat, with Foerster netting two goals in 17 seconds and Michkov adding one goal. This rapid scoring spree set a new franchise record for the Flyers.
Foerster, a 23-year-old first-round pick in the 2020 draft, expressed his excitement about the achievement, stating that it was a fun experience. The Flyers’ three-goal burst ranks as the fourth-fastest in NHL history, with other teams achieving similar feats in the past.
The game saw Michkov scoring his fifth goal of the season, while Foerster notched two consecutive goals against Jake Allen. All three goals were scored at even strength, giving the Flyers a 4-1 lead. The team honored the late Hall of Fame goalie Bernie Parent during the game, with former players present to witness the tribute.
Former Flyers star and current head coach Rick Tocchet emphasized the importance of engaging the crowd and building momentum, recognizing the fans’ role in supporting the team. The Flyers continued their strong performance, securing their third win in four games.
In addition to Foerster and Michkov’s goals, Bobby Brink and Trevor Zegras added to the Flyers’ lead, resulting in a 6-3 victory over the Devils. Despite goals from Nico Hischier and Timo Meier for the Devils, Allen made 23 saves, and Dan Vladar recorded 32 saves for the Flyers.
The game showcased the Flyers’ offensive prowess and determination to succeed, further solidifying their position in the league.
