Drake to Host Exclusive Apology Party for Janices Across Major Cities
Janice, if you’ve felt offended by Drake’s track named Janice STFU, there’s good news for you if you can prove your identity with a government-issued ID.
In a recent announcement, representatives of the acclaimed Toronto rapper disclosed his plan to host an exclusive apology event solely for individuals named Janice. Drake shared on his Instagram story, “All my Janice’s in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, and Houston, keep an eye out for my invite for Sunday.”
Accompanying his message was a video showing a pile of letters, presumably addressed to people named Janice. Described as “a formal apology to the Janices of Toronto,” Drake’s team affirmed through email that physical invitations had been dispatched to Janices in the city.
For those with the legal first name Janice who may have not received an invitation, they can still RSVP by reaching out via email to JSTFU@DRAKERELATED.COM, as stated in the email communication.
To gain entry to the event, attendees must present government-issued photo identification confirming their legal first name as Janice, excluding nicknames, middle names, or surnames, as clarified in the email.
This initiative follows the success of Drake’s hit single, Janice STFU, from his album ICEMAN. The song quickly soared to the top spot on both the Billboard Global 200 and the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, marking Drake’s 14th chart-topping hit and surpassing Michael Jackson’s record for the most No. 1 hits by a male solo artist.
The track was part of a surprise release consisting of a triple-album drop, including ICEMAN, Habibti, and Maid of Honour, with a remarkable 42 songs from the albums making it to the Hot 100 charts. Notably, Maid of Honour and Habibti also debuted at the summit of the Billboard Global 200.
Drake’s team confirmed that the exclusive party in Toronto is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, at the Cactus Club on Adelaide St. from 1-4 p.m. ET.
