A safety alert has been issued for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens sold in the United States and Canada due to a potential electric shock risk. The recall specifically pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens bearing model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label on the rear of the toaster oven. The concern lies with the power cord of the toaster oven, where the insulation might be inadequate as a protective fiberglass sleeve may not fully cover the cord, leading to a possible risk of electric shock or fire.
Panasonic, in a voluntary recall notice, emphasized the importance of addressing this issue promptly. Health Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and Panasonic collectively advised consumers to cease using the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them to the company for a refund. According to Panasonic, approximately 2,184 of the impacted products were sold in Canada and around 11,500 in the United States from November 2025 to March 2026. As of June 15, Health Canada reported no injuries in Canada related to the power cord problem. In the U.S., Panasonic received five reports of circuit breakers tripping concerning the toaster ovens, but no injuries were reported.
