Drake has surpassed Michael Jackson’s long-standing record for most No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo male artist, solidifying his position as a dominant figure in pop music. His latest single, “Janice STFU,” debuted at the top of the chart this week, coinciding with the release of his trilogy of albums.
With this achievement, Drake now ties with Taylor Swift and Rihanna for the most No. 1 singles among all artists, boasting a career total of 14 chart-toppers. He also set a new record by placing 42 songs on the Hot 100 in a single week, surpassing the previous record of 37 set by Morgan Wallen in 2025.
In a nod to Michael Jackson, Drake has often referenced the pop icon in his music, drawing parallels between his own legacy and that of the late singer. The cover of his latest album, “Iceman,” features a rhinestone-studded glove reminiscent of Jackson’s iconic accessory.
Not stopping at individual success, Drake made history this week by claiming the top three spots on the Billboard’s top 200 album chart with his trilogy of albums – “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour” debuting at Nos. 1, 2, and 3, respectively. These releases mark Drake’s return to solo projects following his public feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, with references to the rivalry embedded in several tracks.
Prior to the album releases, Drake orchestrated a series of public stunts to build anticipation, culminating in a grand light show at Toronto’s CN Tower on May 15, where he unveiled the albums. This strategic marketing approach generated significant buzz around “Iceman” and further cemented Drake’s status as a music industry powerhouse.
