“Drake’s Albums Sweep Top 3 Spots on Billboard 200”

Featured in:

Drake has made music history with his latest albums, namely, Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour, as they have claimed the top three positions on the renowned Billboard 200 albums chart simultaneously. This achievement marks the first time that one artist’s three albums have dominated the top spots on the chart in a single week.

Among the trio, Iceman secured the coveted No. 1 position. The album, which Drake had teased with an ice structure in downtown Toronto and through livestreamed episodes, was highly anticipated by fans. Following closely, Habibti took the No. 2 spot, while Maid of Honour settled in at No. 3.

With this accomplishment, Iceman becomes Drake’s 15th album to reach No. 1 on the chart, tying him with Taylor Swift for the most chart-topping albums by a solo artist. All three albums were released on May 15, with Habibti and Maid of Honour surprising fans with their arrival.

Each of the three albums presents a distinct musical style. Iceman predominantly features rap tracks that delve into the aftermath of Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar and Universal Music Group. In the opening track, “Make Them Cry,” Drake confronts the feud head-on with powerful lyrics. Conversely, Habibti takes a softer approach, focusing on themes of love and relationships in songs like Slap the City and Classic.

Meanwhile, Maid of Honour stands out as the most experimental of the trilogy, showcasing Drake’s versatility by blending elements of Chicago juke in Outside Tweaking, 80s synths in Goose and the Juice, and utilizing catchy samples throughout the album, such as Peggy Gou’s (It Goes Like) Nanana in Cheetah Print and DJ Casper’s Cha Cha Slide.

The release of these albums has created a significant buzz in the music industry, solidifying Drake’s position as a chart-topping artist with a diverse musical range.
