“Stellantis Recalls 1.3 Million Jeeps Over Fire Risks”

Featured in:

Stellantis has announced a global recall of over 1.3 million Jeep SUVs and trucks due to fire risks, advising owners to park their vehicles away from other structures or cars until the issue is fixed. The recall affects Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator models from 2021 to 2025, specifically due to a potential electrical connection problem in the wiring of the electric hydraulic power steering pump. This issue could lead to overheating of combustible materials, increasing the risk of a vehicle fire.

The recall impacts approximately 1.08 million vehicles in the United States, 106,000 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico, and around 125,000 in other global markets, according to Stellantis. The company stated that the recall process will involve inspecting and potentially repairing or replacing the wiring harness or electric hydraulic power steering pump.

Stellantis is actively working to expedite the availability of the fix and aims to complete the recall by July at the latest. Although there has been one reported injury related to the issue, there have been no accidents or fatalities associated with it.
