Tegan Quin, known for her role in the pop-indie duo Tegan and Sara, has contributed to the Marvel Comics pride special one-shot titled Wiccan & Hulking: Raid of Ultron #1, set to be released on May 27. The comic showcases the beloved gay duo Wiccan and Hulkling along with their families, emphasizing the significance of community and connections during challenging times.

In Quin’s narrative, illustrated by Luciano Vecchio, the story revolves around twins Wiccan and Speed as they unite to confront Ultron while navigating their distinct paths as siblings. Quin expressed her excitement for writing about Wiccan and Speed, stating that as a twin herself, these characters held a special place in her heart within the Marvel Universe.

Apart from Quin’s contribution, the comic will also feature works from writers Wyatt Kennedy, Josh Trujillo, and Zoe Tunnell, along with artists Rachael Stott, Bradley Clayton, and Stephen Byrne. Based in Vancouver, Quin is actively supporting Loghan Paylor’s novel The Cure for Drowning for the upcoming Canada Reads event in 2026.

Canada Reads involves five Canadian celebrities selecting a book they believe the nation should read, engaging in debates and eliminations over four days until a final winner emerges. This year’s event is scheduled to run from April 13 to 16.

In their illustrious career, Tegan and Sara have launched 10 studio albums, featuring popular tracks like Closer, Where Does The Good Go, and Walking with A Ghost, selling over a million records. The duo has garnered numerous accolades, including Juno and GLAAD awards, a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, as well as nominations for the Polaris Music Prize and the Grammy Awards.

Tegan and Sara transitioned from music to writing in 2019 with their joint memoir, High School, and the middle-grade graphic novel series Tegan & Sara: Junior High, illustrated by Tillie Walden. Additionally, they established the Tegan and Sara Foundation to provide support and resources to 2SLGBTQ+ communities, earning them the Humanitarian Award at the 2024 Juno Awards.
