A woman from Florida has been charged with attempted murder and other serious offenses after allegedly firing gunshots at Rihanna’s residence in Los Angeles. The District Attorney revealed that the singer, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three young children, and Rihanna’s mother were present on the property during the incident.
The accused, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, faces charges for the shooting that took place outside Rihanna’s gated home in Beverly Hills on Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Ortiz also faces multiple felony charges, including 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited vehicle or dwelling.
Appearing in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County before Judge Theresa McGonigle, Ortiz’s attorney initially entered a plea of not guilty but later opted to postpone the arraignment to March 25. She is being held on a bail amount of $1.8 million US. The court issued a protective order barring Ortiz from contacting Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, or going near their home, in addition to restrictions on firearms possession.
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell disclosed that 10 individuals were inside Rihanna’s residence at the time of the shooting. Investigators believe Ortiz traveled from Florida to the area, although the exact timeline remains unclear. Public records indicate that Ortiz, a licensed speech pathologist for over a decade, most recently resided in Orlando.
Following her arrest post-incident, a weapon was recovered, but authorities have not disclosed any potential connection between Ortiz and Rihanna. Attempts to reach out for comments from various parties involved have not been responded to as of Tuesday. Television footage from KABC-TV showed apparent bullet holes on Rihanna’s property, with police dispatch audio confirming that 10 shots were fired.
Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy Award winner known for hits like “We Found Love” and “Umbrella,” co-parents with A$AP Rocky and recently welcomed their third child, Rocki Irish Mayers, in September 2025.
