“Arrest Made After Knox Mountain Park Fire”

Featured in:

Kelowna RCMP have reported the arrest and detention of an individual following a fire outbreak at Knox Mountain Park on Friday. Authorities closed off access to the park, situated in a residential neighborhood near downtown, upon the discovery of smoke and flames on the mountainside. Police and fire services aided hikers in descending from the mountain, with concerns over high winds in the vicinity. By 4:45 p.m. PT, crews successfully subdued the flames, maintaining their presence at the scene. Knox Mountain Park, the largest natural park in Kelowna spanning 3.85 square kilometers north of downtown, underwent controlled burning activities on October 16.
